Clean Water for Africa, Breakfast for Hungry Children... World Vision Hosts Charity Walkathon

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] World Vision Gyeongnam Ulsan Business Headquarters will hold a 'Donation Walking Event' on October 3rd at 3·15 Haeyang Nuri Park in Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, to support drinking water for African children and breakfast support for children suffering from food deprivation in the Changwon area.
The donation walking event is jointly sponsored by Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam Shafron Volunteer Group, and World Vision Changwon Branch.
The event, first held in 2018 in Jinju, Gyeongnam as the nation's first, will be held for the fifth time this year and will be the first large-scale outdoor gathering since the COVID-19 pandemic.
About 1,000 participants including Changwon citizens, students, and parents are expected to join, and participants will walk an average distance of 6 km, which is the average distance children in underdeveloped countries walk to obtain drinking water, experiencing various activities and volunteer work.
The participation fee is 20,000 KRW per person, and all collected funds will be donated. Participants will receive souvenirs provided by Lock&Lock, Korea Yakult, and Ami Global.
