Boseong-gun Wins Excellence Award for Three Consecutive Years at Jeollanam-do Active Administration Competition

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it won the Excellence Award for three consecutive years at the Jeollanam-do Active Administration Competition.

The excellent active administration cases awarded to Boseong-gun this time were two cases: △the disposal of business site waste that had been neglected for 17 years and △the creation of a multifunctional urban forest through a reverse thinking approach to resolving odor complaints.

In particular, Environmental Ecology Division Manager Lee Yu-mi and Officer Jeong Eun-gyeong, who promoted the disposal of business site waste that had been neglected for 17 years, achieved results by persistently finding grounds to identify the waste disposer and saving about 400 million won in disposal costs through waste disposal orders.

Forestry Industry Division Manager Seon Jong-hwan and Officer Ko Dae-beom were selected as excellent active administration cases by solving local odor complaints with reverse thinking. These two created a multifunctional future urban forest to resolve odor complaints flowing into the city.

Since 2019, through this project, Boseong-gun created a multifunctional forest in the form of a primeval forest along a 2.1 km section of the old national road, establishing walking trails and parks. This achieved a twofold effect by resolving odor complaints and creating welfare spaces for residents.

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is leading administrative innovation with new ideas by sharing excellent cases and activating resident-centered active administration with all public officials together.
