Students of Chosun University AI Convergence College Project Team Shine at University Student Creative Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Students from participating departments of Chosun University AI Convergence College Project Group are proving their leadership in AI education and research by achieving excellent results at the 11th KIEE Industrial Electrical Applications Division University Student Project Competition.
According to Chosun University on the 8th, the '11th KIEE Industrial Electrical Applications Division University Student Project Competition' was recently held at the Yeosu Venezia Hotel & Resort.
The event, hosted by the KIEE Industrial Electrical Applications Division, saw students from Chosun University's Department of Electronic Engineering present papers reflecting creative ideas, receiving high evaluations and winning the Grand Prize, Gold Prize, and Bronze Prize.
The team from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Advisor Professor Kwak Geunchang) consisting of Kim Seohyun, Park Siyun, Jo Hongmin, and Hwang Jieun, who submitted the project titled 'Deep Learning-Based Depression Diagnosis and Emotional Conversation Chatbot Using Voice Signals' and won the Grand Prize, received high praise for proposing a deep learning model for voice-based depression diagnosis, considering the close correlation between depression and voice. Technical consultation was provided by Tmax AI Artificial Intelligence Center.
Next, the team from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Advisor Professor Kwak Geunchang) consisting of Kim Hyobin, Shin Yujeong, Lee Jina, Jung Yujin, and Hong Dohyun, who won the Gold Prize with the project 'AI-Based Home Training Using Motion Recognition and BMI Information,' showcased technology that automatically calculates BMI when users input their body information, allowing users to self-correct their posture accurately. Technical consultation was provided by Intflow Co., Ltd. and Remo Co., Ltd.
The Bronze Prize-winning team from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Advisor Professor Kwak Geunchang), consisting of Kim Taeyoung, Lee Sanghyun, Choi Jinbeom, Choi Daegil, and Oh Sejun, developed an 'AI-Based Scalp Condition Analysis Customized Shampoo Recommendation App.' Through technical consultation with Hayeon Co., Ltd., they researched and presented a system that recommends AI-based customized shampoos.
This award is analyzed as the result of support projects such as the Capstone Design course and university-industry-cooperative projects conducted by the Chosun University AI Convergence College Project Group.
The AI Convergence College Project Group supported students taking the Capstone Design course by providing prototype production costs for task completion and conducted education such as technical consultation with companies.
Chosun University, having been selected for Gwangju City's 'AI Industry Convergence Complex Construction Project AI Convergence College Support Project,' established the AI Convergence College Project Group and operates the Capstone Design course for participating departments.
Additionally, based on demand surveys from participating and cooperating companies, common themes are selected each semester for students to lead tasks and experience core implementation know-how. Experts from companies in various healthcare fields are appointed as mentors to continuously provide technical consultation during task execution.
Meanwhile, as part of the support project, the Chosun University AI Convergence College Project Group operates the 'AI Healthcare Convergence Major.' Scholarships and excellence scholarships are awarded to students who apply for the AI Healthcare Convergence Major.
