Due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and the impact of high prices, consumption has contracted, causing a decrease in sales for market merchants. To provide practical help, he participated in a traditional market consumption promotion and price stabilization campaign and shopping event together with accompanying senior officials.
Mayor Hong checked the basket prices by purchasing Chuseok seasonal products with Onnuri gift certificates and listened to the merchants and citizens visiting the traditional markets about the economic sentiment and local economic situation.
The items purchased by Mayor Hong that day were donated to local welfare facilities.
The city announced that it will operate a comprehensive situation room for price stabilization measures and a joint inspection team until the 12th to manage Chuseok price stabilization.
They are inspecting the distribution system and conducting focused guidance and crackdowns on unfair trade practices related to major seasonal products, such as price collusion, hoarding and monopolizing, and non-compliance with price labeling regulations.
