Hyundai Doosan Infracore Appoints Professor Heejae Park of Seoul National University Department of Mechanical Engineering as Adjunct Professor

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] Hyundai Doosan Infracore announced on the 7th that it held the 'Hyundai Doosan Infracore-Seoul National University Department of Mechanical Engineering Adjunct Professor Appointment Ceremony' to strengthen industry-academia cooperation and activate technology exchange, appointing Professor Park Heejae as an adjunct professor.
About 20 people attended the agreement ceremony held at the College of Engineering at Seoul National University, including An Seonghun, head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SNU, Professor Park Heejae who was appointed as an adjunct professor, and Cho Youngcheol, president of Hyundai Doosan Infracore.
This adjunct professor appointment is aimed at further strengthening the various research activities and exchanges conducted so far, and will oversee joint development of future technologies between the company and the university.
Hyundai Doosan Infracore and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SNU have maintained industry-academia cooperation since 2009 through the BK21 agreement, conducting joint research projects and operating industry-academia scholarship programs. In particular, they have produced over 30 tangible results, including the development of a hybrid excavator for optimal fuel efficiency performance of construction machinery equipment. Both institutions expect the scope of cooperation to expand further through this adjunct professor appointment agreement.
Professor Park, appointed as an adjunct professor, founded 'SNU Precision,' the first venture company from Seoul National University’s laboratory in 1998, and served as the head of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s R&D Strategic Planning Group. He is recognized as a professor with excellent insight into research and development as well as a deep understanding of industry. Professor Park’s term is up to three years, and under his leadership, both institutions plan to promote ▲ technology exchange and joint industry-academia research ▲ technology forums involving professors and researchers ▲ mutual cooperation in nurturing outstanding talent.
