Two Bodies Found in Underground Parking Lot of Pohang Apartment... Death Toll Rises to 4 in Pohang and Gyeongju

On that day, all eight people went missing from two apartments in Nam-gu, Pohang, prompting the fire authorities to launch a search, and two bodies were found in one apartment where seven people were missing.
According to Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province, and the fire authorities on the 6th, a total of eight residents went missing after going to the underground parking lots of two apartments in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, where heavy rain brought by Typhoon No. 11 Hinnamnor flooded many parts of the city, to move their cars, and a search operation is underway.
At around 9:11 a.m. that day, reports were received one after another from residents of an apartment in Indeok-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang City, saying, "We cannot contact family members who went to move their cars in the underground parking lot."
It is known that these residents went out after hearing the management office's announcement to "move vehicles in the underground parking lot" starting from 6:30 a.m. that day and then went missing.
Pohang City and the fire authorities estimated that seven residents of this apartment went missing.
The accident site is a one-story underground parking lot shared by Complex 1 and Complex 2. It remained flooded due to heavy rain until the afternoon, and the fire authorities are carrying out drainage work to search for the missing persons.
The fire authorities said, "The parking lot is on the first basement floor and is currently filled with water. We need to drain some of the water before we can start rescue operations."
At around 9:46 a.m. that day, another missing person case was reported from a different apartment.
Family members reported that a man in his 60s who went out to move his car in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang City, went missing, and firefighters began drainage work and a search.
So far, four people have died and six are missing in Pohang and Gyeongju due to this typhoon.
At around 7:57 a.m. that day, a woman in her 70s was swept away by a rapid current on a road in Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang City, and was found dead about an hour later nearby.
According to the fire authorities, the woman was investigated to have been caught in the accident while walking to a shelter with her husband.

At around 11 a.m., an elderly woman in her 80s was found dead buried under a pile of soil at a house in Jinhyeon-dong, Gyeongju City.
