Jeongeup-si Establishes 'Emergency Medical System' During Chuseok Holiday Period
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk will operate an emergency medical system for four days from the 9th to the 12th during the Chuseok holiday period to ensure that citizens can spend the Chuseok holiday healthily and safely.
The city announced on the 6th that it has prepared a "Chuseok Holiday Emergency Medical Measures" to inspect and manage the emergency medical system during the Chuseok holiday and to provide treatment and transport for general and emergency patients.
The Chuseok holiday emergency medical measures involve 85 institutions, including 41 public health institutions in Jeongeup City (one public health clinic closed), 25 medical institutions such as Jeongeup Asan Hospital, and 19 pharmacies.
In particular, Asan Hospital, a regional emergency medical center, will maintain an emergency medical system to provide 24-hour emergency patient care during the holiday period.
The 41 public health institutions and 25 medical institutions will provide emergency medical services on designated duty days, and 19 holiday-duty pharmacies will be designated and operated to minimize inconvenience to citizens.
In addition, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure citizens have a safe holiday, the public health center screening clinic will operate normally from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Jeongeup Asan Hospital will operate 24 hours.
Also, a dedicated team will be formed to monitor COVID-19 home treatment patients aged 70 and older, and rapid diagnostic kits will be provided for preemptive testing of workers at nursing hospitals and facilities.
An emergency medical countermeasures situation room will also be installed and operated at the public health center to guide citizens on duty medical institutions and holiday-duty pharmacies, supervise and inspect their operation, ensuring emergency medical services proceed without disruption.
Information on emergency medical institutions and holiday-duty pharmacies can be obtained through Jeongeup Public Health Center, the Health and Welfare Call Center, the Emergency Medical Information Center, the 119 Ambulance Situation Management Center, and the city hall website.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "We will do our best to maintain the emergency medical system during the holiday period to prevent any gaps in emergency medical care for citizens," and added, "We ask citizens to participate in daily quarantine rules such as wearing masks thoroughly and getting tested if symptoms are suspected."
