Gyeonggi Fire Department Conducts 'Distance Inspection' of Hazardous Materials Transport Vehicles

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 6th that from the 29th of last month to the 2nd of this month, they carried out roadside inspections to check compliance with the Hazardous Materials Safety Control Act for vehicles carrying hazardous materials exceeding the designated quantity.
During this inspection, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters focused on ▲whether hazardous materials transporters and carriers have obtained qualifications and completed practical training ▲whether vehicles carrying hazardous materials containers exceeding the designated quantity comply with transportation standards ▲whether mobile tank storage facilities comply with storage and handling standards.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters plans to conduct roadside inspections related to hazardous materials vehicles quarterly.

Meanwhile, according to the "Hazardous Materials Carrier Qualification System" implemented on June 10 of this year, vehicle carriers transporting large quantities of hazardous materials (such as gasoline) must obtain national technical qualifications related to hazardous materials (Hazardous Materials Master Craftsman, Hazardous Materials Industrial Engineer, Hazardous Materials Technician) or complete training courses.
