German Magazine: "Sportage Hybrid Superior to Toyota RAV4"
"A Vehicle One Generation Ahead"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kia's compact SUV, the Sportage Hybrid, has outperformed Toyota's RAV4 Hybrid in a comparison review by a European automotive magazine.
According to Hyundai Motor Group on the 4th, the German automotive media 'Auto Bild' recently conducted a comparison evaluation of hybrid sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and stated that "the Kia Sportage is a generation ahead of the Toyota RAV4."
Auto Bild is known as one of the top three automotive magazines in Germany, alongside 'Auto Motor und Sport' and 'Auto Zeitung,' and holds significant influence among consumers across Europe.
This comparison evaluation targeted two eco-friendly SUV models, the Sportage Hybrid and the RAV4 Hybrid, assessing them across seven categories: body, convenience, powertrain, driving performance, connectivity, eco-friendliness, and economy.
The Sportage led in four categories?body, convenience, driving performance, and connectivity?and tied in eco-friendliness, achieving a total score of 563 points, surpassing the RAV4's 540 points.
In particular, the Sportage received ratings 13 points and 11 points higher than the RAV4 in the convenience and driving performance categories, respectively.
Auto Bild evaluated that "the Sportage is economical, consuming 7.1 liters per 100 km, which is almost identical to the official fuel efficiency."

Previously, the Sportage Plug-in Hybrid also ranked first in a plug-in hybrid SUV model comparison conducted by Auto Motor und Sport in June, beating Toyota RAV4, Opel Grandland, and Volvo XC40.
