Thousands Gather at Gorbachev's Funeral Ceremony
The funeral of Mikhail Gorbachev, former President of the Soviet Union, was solemnly held on the 3rd at the Federal Assembly House of Representatives' Pillar Hall.

According to foreign media including the AP News, the funeral of former President Gorbachev was held from 10 a.m. at the House of Union Philahall in Moscow, attended by thousands. Mourners expressed their condolences by laying roses and bouquets in front of the coffin containing former President Gorbachev's body. His only daughter Irina and two granddaughters stayed by his side.
The deceased passed away at the age of 91 on the 30th of last month after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease. The coffin was interred at Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow. It is planned to be buried next to his wife, Raisa.

Former President Gorbachev is recognized as the key figure who lifted the Iron Curtain and peacefully ended the Cold War. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990 for his contributions to the post-Cold War era. Nevertheless, domestically, he faced criticism as a traitor who caused the collapse of the former Soviet Union.
