Korea Forest Welfare Institute Begins Construction of National Gimhae Forest Experience Center... Target Completion in 2024

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Welfare Institute has begun the development of the National Gimhae Forest Experience Center, aiming for completion in August 2024.
According to the Forest Welfare Institute on the 2nd, the Gimhae Forest Experience Center will be established on 178 hectares around Geumdongsan in Daegam-ri, Sangdong-myeon, Gimhae City, equipped with forest experience education facilities, lodging buildings, and walking trails.
Notably, the Gimhae Forest Experience Center will be the first among domestic forest experience centers to apply the Barrier-Free Certification System (BF Certification) to all facilities, and plans to obtain Zero Energy and Green Building certifications.
The Forest Welfare Institute expects that once the facilities are completed, inclusive forest welfare services such as forest education and forest healing will be provided to 40,000 people annually.
Earlier, on the 1st, the Forest Welfare Institute held a groundbreaking meeting and site guidance at the Gimhae Forest Experience Center construction site with the Gimhae City Forestry Department, construction companies, designers, and supervisors to commence full-scale construction.

Park Seok-hee, Head of the Forest Welfare Service Division, stated, “We will strive to expand forest welfare infrastructure and establish a high-quality service system so that all citizens can have the opportunity to use forest welfare services within close proximity.”
