Gyeonggi-do Supports Up to 30% Discount on Agricultural, Livestock, and Seafood Products Including Gyeonggi Rice Until Year-End
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will support a 20-30% discount on the sale prices of Gyeonggi rice and traditional foods produced in Gyeonggi Province until the end of the year. This measure aims to alleviate the burden of grocery prices on consumers.
The province recently announced on the 2nd that it has allocated a budget of 23.4 billion KRW as part of emergency economic countermeasures to respond to the rising prices and the crisis in the livelihood economy, and decided to promote the 'Gyeonggi Rice and Traditional Food Discount Support Project.'
Accordingly, from this month until the end of December, consumers can receive a 20-30% discount up to 20,000 KRW per person on Gyeonggi rice at large and small supermarkets and online malls within the province, and at 135 traditional food direct stores in each city and county, including agricultural, livestock, and marine products along with Gyeonggi rice.
Offline, the province will sell products at discounted prices along with discount event announcements, and online malls will allow consumers to download and apply coupons when making eligible payments.
In addition, the Gyeonggi Agricultural and Marine Products Promotion Agency's direct shopping mall 'Market Gyeonggi' will hold a 'Chuseok Special Sale of Agricultural, Livestock, and Marine Products' from the 2nd to the 12th.
At Market Gyeonggi, Gyeonggi-produced agricultural, livestock, and marine products can be purchased at up to 30% off (with a limit of 60,000 KRW).
The province will conduct joint price monitoring and origin management supervision activities with consumer and producer organizations during the project period to ensure that the benefits of the discount support project directly reach farmers and consumers.
