Kia Sold 240,000 Units Domestically and Internationally Last Month... 10% Increase YoY
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Kia announced on the 1st that it sold 239,887 vehicles domestically and internationally last month. This is a 10.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
In the domestic market, 41,404 units were sold, a 1.0% increase compared to the same period last year. Among domestic sales, the SUV Sorento was the best-selling model with 5,674 units. Passenger cars sold 12,960 units, and recreational vehicles (RVs) sold 22,799 units. Among commercial vehicles, the 1-ton truck Bongo III sold 5,389 units, totaling 5,645 units.
Overseas, 198,483 units were sold, a 10.4% increase during the same period. The SUV Sportage sold 35,408 units, making it the best-selling model overseas. Both domestic and overseas sales slightly decreased compared to the previous month. The best-selling model domestically and internationally was the Sportage, with 39,281 units sold.

A Kia official stated, "Although management uncertainty continues, we are minimizing the impact of supply delays through flexible semiconductor allocation and adjustments to vehicle production schedules," adding, "We will expand market share and profitability through competitive new vehicles and solid sales strategies in the future."
