Senko Selected as Priority Negotiation Partner for 4.8 Billion KRW Yeosu Smart Industrial Complex Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Senko, a total solution company for gas sensors, announced on the 1st that it has been selected as the priority negotiation candidate for the 'Environmental Monitoring System Construction' project of Yeosu City Smart Green Industrial Complex. The project scale is approximately 4.78 billion KRW, and the project period is until October 2023.
The Smart Green Industrial Complex project was selected as one of the promotion tasks in the digital-green convergence field of the Korean New Deal comprehensive plan announced by the government in 2020. The project aims to transform the current aging industrial complexes, which emit energy inefficiency and air pollutants due to outdated production facilities, into industrial complexes capable of eco-friendly manufacturing processes.
The government’s strategy is to increase the number of industrial complexes focusing on value chain digital transformation, low-carbon high-efficiency energy innovation, and eco-friendliness to 15 by 2025 and to expand them nationwide.
The Yeosu Industrial Complex, which was awarded this time, is a high-risk area where multiple major accidents have occurred, with aging facilities and adjacent residential areas, requiring preemptive accident prevention management through monitoring.
Based on more than 400 project experiences, Senko plans to establish an integrated environmental monitoring system including a real-time hazardous chemical detection system and an emergency response system.
