Gochang-gun Promotes 'Administrative District Boundary Adjustment' to Resolve Resident Inconvenience

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] On the 1st, Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced that it will promote the adjustment of administrative district boundaries focusing on efficient administrative work processing and resolving residents' inconveniences.

The county plans to improve residents' convenience and administrative efficiency by adjusting unreasonable administrative districts, such as adjusting the boundaries of eup and myeon or organizing ri, tong, and ban (name and boundary changes, separation, integration, abolition, installation) targeting areas with residents' living inconveniences and areas of population overcrowding or underpopulation under the current administrative district system.

In particular, the main subjects of the field survey are areas that require subdivision or consolidation due to terrain or village conditions, and areas where living zones are separated due to regional development such as new road construction and new apartment complex development.

The county will conduct a field survey on the adjustment of administrative district boundaries through eup and myeon offices until the 14th.

After the survey, in the case of villages wishing for adjustment, a village general meeting must be held to collect opinions for and against, and then the procedure for collecting residents' opinions on the adjustment will be followed. By the end of the year, after confirming the appropriateness of opinion collection and residents' convenience, the administrative district adjustment procedure will begin.

County Governor Shim Deokseop said, "We plan to carry out administrative district adjustments that everyone desires through an accurate field survey considering the residents' intentions," and added, "We will promote residents' convenience and improve efficiency through clear administrative district boundary adjustments."
