"Active Support for Breaking Events" Nike Signs Official Partnership with Korea DanceSport Federation
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Nike Korea announced on the 1st that it has signed an official partnership with the Korea Federation of DanceSport (KFD).
This agreement marks Nike's first partnership in the dance field in Korea, aiming to further expand the base of sports through dance and to strengthen communication and collaboration with athletes in the future.
In particular, Nike will actively support the domestic breaking category, which has long been recognized for its global competitiveness and has played a leading role in K-Dance. Breaking has solidified its position as a sport, having been selected as an official event for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the 2024 Paris Olympics. As part of the partnership, Nike will provide various products, including supporting the national team uniforms for breaking, and will continue to offer diverse support to help national athletes perform at their best in international competitions.
Along with this partnership, Nike unveiled the ‘Own the Floor’ dance campaign featuring four national breaking athletes: Kim Yelli (YELL), Jeon Jiye (FRESHBELLA), Kim Jongho (LEON), and Choi Seungbin (HEADY), delivering inspiration about sports based on the spirit and artistry conveyed through dance.
