Goheung-gun, 2nd Supplementary Budget Increased by 68 Billion KRW to 931.1 Billion KRW
Support for Small Business Owners and Vulnerable Groups, Focusing on Public Safety and Revitalization of the Local Economy
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Jeong-woo] Goheung County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it has prepared a second supplementary budget of 931.1 billion KRW, an increase of 68 billion KRW compared to the original budget.
This supplementary budget focuses on urgent projects that need to be promoted to realize the administrative tasks of the 8th local government term, such as stabilizing the livelihoods of small business owners and self-employed people struggling due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and resolving inconveniences for residents.
First, in preparation for the re-spread of COVID-19, the budget includes 4.5 billion KRW for small business owners' daily recovery support funds, 3.5 billion KRW for living support expenses for those in self-quarantine, and 200 million KRW for support of screening clinics and quarantine supplies to actively support the safe daily recovery of county residents.
Additionally, to stabilize the lives of vulnerable groups, the budget allocates 2.4 billion KRW for temporary living support projects for low-income households, 100 million KRW for operating welfare centers for the disabled, 400 million KRW for financial support for bus transportation and voucher taxi operation costs for transportation-vulnerable groups, and 1.7 billion KRW for supporting the purchase of tax-exempt agricultural fuel to reduce production costs.
For disaster response and safe living, the budget includes 1.3 billion KRW for the Haechangman disaster risk zone maintenance project, 5.3 billion KRW for road maintenance and expansion projects, 400 million KRW for small stream maintenance projects, 600 million KRW for roadside parking lot construction projects, and 1.2 billion KRW for breakwater maintenance and floating dock installation works.
Major investment projects include 3 billion KRW for the Smart Farm Innovation Valley development project, 3 billion KRW for the installation of a joint discharge facility for processed dried seaweed wastewater at Pungnam Port, 1.8 billion KRW for the construction of a complex rest area at Palyoung Bridge, 1.4 billion KRW for a pilot project to promote vitality in fishing villages, and 700 million KRW for supporting the establishment of an eco-friendly agricultural foundation.
County Governor Gong Young-min said, “This second supplementary budget prioritizes stabilizing the livelihoods of small business owners suffering economic difficulties due to COVID-19 and recovering the local economy. We will thoroughly prepare in advance to ensure that the necessary major projects are executed promptly and do our best to operate finances soundly and in balance.”
