Korea Railroad Launches AI Real-Time 'Self-Diagnosis' Pilot Operation on Metropolitan Subway
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) is introducing an AI-based real-time self-diagnosis system to the metropolitan subway and will conduct a pilot operation.
KORAIL announced on the 31st that it has developed a "condition-based analysis self-diagnosis system" that uses AI technology to monitor the operational status of railway vehicles in real time, enabling fault prediction and safety assurance.
This system was jointly developed with support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, involving KORAIL, Hyundai Rotem Co., Ltd., and Korea National University of Transportation.
KORAIL plans to pilot this system on two metropolitan subway train sets starting next month to verify its performance, aiming for commercialization in 2024.
