Coupang Launches First Win-Win Support Project Following Establishment of Distribution Win-Win Council with Korea Federation of SMEs
Support for Marketing and Sales Growth of Over 300 Small and Medium-Sized Businesses Entering Coupang
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 31st that it will carry out the first win-win support project in the online sector after launching the Distribution Win-Win Council with the Korea Federation of SMEs.
Through this win-win support project, Coupang plans to support marketing and sales growth, such as banner exposure for special promotions, for about 300 small and medium-sized merchants who have joined Coupang among the companies participating in the Korea Federation of SMEs' support program "Ilsacheolli."
The Distribution Win-Win Council was launched in March to promote a mutually beneficial development relationship between distribution companies and tenant SMEs. Last year, Coupang paid 115 billion KRW in transaction payments early to small merchants and held three product evaluation meetings in the Gyeongbuk region, which was severely affected by COVID-19, demonstrating efforts for the win-win development of SMEs. The sales of companies participating in Coupang's regional SME win-win support project grew by 69% in one year, providing opportunities for nationwide market expansion. This figure is even higher than Coupang's overall growth rate of 54% in 2021.
