On that day, the city began by explaining eight policy directions by sector under the theme of ‘Pohang’s Greater Dreams and Challenges’ for the 8th elected administration (citizen happiness, industrial economic growth, fostering advanced science and technology, clean urban environment, marine tourism development, strengthening social welfare, advanced culture, arts and sports, and expanding citizen participation), followed by an introduction of the vision based on six keywords for the 8th elected administration (future, youth, growth, society, city, culture).
Mayor Lee Gang-deok emphasized enhancing citizens' happiness and expanding opportunities for citizen participation to leap forward as a hopeful special city and a greater Pohang in the 8th term of the elected government.
