Hyundai Department Store, 'Wearable and Beauty Devices' Popular as Chuseok Gifts
Wearable Device Sales Increase by 48.1%
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] This year, smart devices have emerged as popular gifts for Chuseok.
According to Hyundai Department Store on the 30th, sales of wearable devices such as smartwatches, smart bands, and wireless earphones from the 1st to the 29th of this month increased by 48.1% compared to the Chuseok gift set sales period last year. By item, smartwatch sales rose by 58.3%, smart bands by 45.6%, and wireless earphones by 51.3%.
Beauty devices that allow consistent at-home appearance care also sold well. During the Chuseok gift set sales period, beauty device sales increased by 59.6% compared to last year, which is three times higher than the 21.3% growth rate in beauty device sales in the first half of this year. Massage chair sales grew by 22.7% year-on-year, establishing themselves as one of the holiday gift options.
