CJ Logistics Overseas Subsidiaries Local Staff Advanced Logistics Training: "Global Spread of Innovative Technology"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] CJ Logistics is operating a training program to develop key personnel of its overseas local subsidiaries into logistics experts in order to drive global growth based on advanced technology.
CJ Logistics announced on the 30th that it is conducting the ‘Advanced Logistics Expert Course’ targeting local subsidiaries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
This course, which started in July and runs for three months until October, is aimed at about 50 key operational personnel from each country’s subsidiary. The training focuses on core logistics operations and includes ▲ understanding the introduction and application methods of TES (Technology, Engineering, System & Solution) technology ▲ ABC analysis for successful inventory management ▲ key success factors and structure of transportation cost calculation ▲ best practices for improving logistics processes in overseas subsidiaries ▲ logistics center layout and visibility implementation. The program combines theoretical education with group discussions, presentations, and field training.
The response from local employees participating in the training program has been very positive. Irawan Saputra, center manager at CJ Logistics’ Surabaya logistics center in Indonesia, said, “I was able to easily understand professional theories such as ABC analysis and logistics center design through practical exercises and discussions, and it was a great opportunity to build job competency by learning about the operational methods of other sites.”
CJ Logistics plans to simultaneously promote the overseas dissemination of advanced technology and capacity-building education for local personnel to strengthen its global business capabilities. The company aims to further enhance its overseas logistics business capabilities by continuously expanding facilities and logistics centers equipped with advanced technology and improving expertise through training local personnel to operate them.
Previously, CJ Logistics operated a ‘Basic Logistics Expert Course’ at the end of last year for about 270 local employees in five countries overseas, including Malaysia, Mexico, India, the Philippines, and Thailand, to cultivate essential basic competencies for logistics operations and sales. This year, considering the endemic situation, an upgraded training program is being conducted targeting three countries: Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
CJ Logistics is also working on applying TES-based advanced logistics technology and equipment to suit local conditions. It is applying the multipurpose logistics support system ‘MPS (Multi Purpose System)’ and the digital sorting system ‘DAS (Digital Assorting System)’ to logistics centers in Southeast Asia while also training operational personnel.
