Next Year's Health Insurance Premium Rate Increased by 1.49%... Employee Insurance Premium Rate from 6.99% to 7.09% (Update)
The health insurance premium rate will increase by 1.49% next year compared to this year.
On the afternoon of the 29th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare held the Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee, the highest decision-making body for health insurance policy, and announced on the 30th that it had decided to raise the 2023 health insurance premium rate by 1.49%.
Accordingly, the insurance premium rate for workplace subscribers will rise from the current 6.99% to 7.09% next year, and the amount charged per point for regional subscribers will increase from 205.3 won to 208.4 won.

Previously, the health insurance premium rate was increased by 0.90% in 2016, frozen in 2017, raised by 2.04% in 2018, and by 3.49% in 2019. Recently, the rate of increase has slightly eased with rises of 3.20% in 2020, 2.89% in 2021, and 1.89% in 2022.
