Gwangju Dong-gu and Democratic Party Hold Local Autonomy and Decentralization Policy Council Meeting
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 26th, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, held the first local autonomy and decentralization policy council of the 8th civil election with the Democratic Party of Korea Dongnam-eul Regional Committee, and announced on the 29th that they discussed various pending projects for district development and reaffirmed their willingness to cooperate.
The council was held with active discussions on Dong-gu's pending issues attended by National Assembly member Lee Byung-hoon, Dong-gu Mayor Lim Taek, city and district council members, and key senior officials.
Specifically, five agenda items were focused on: ▲ Maintenance of the 5·18 Democracy Square Fountain ▲ Creation of public parking lots in Sansu 1-dong and Jiwon 1-dong urban areas ▲ Development of Seongyo Reservoir Complex Lake Park ▲ Fostering Namdo Dalbam Art Travel Destination centered on Mudeungsan and Gwangju Eupseong, among others.
National Assembly member Lee Byung-hoon said, “While examining various pending projects from multiple angles, we will prioritize projects that can first resolve residents' inconveniences and difficulties,” and added, “I hope Mayor Lim Taek, city and district council members, and public officials will pool all their capabilities and respond actively for regional development.”
