KT&G Signs MOU with Sejong City for Construction of Printing Factory in Sejong Future Industrial Complex
Construction of Eco-Friendly Factory Focused on Solar and Renewable Energy... Approximately 180 Billion KRW Investment
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT&G announced on the 29th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sejong Special Self-Governing City on the 26th to establish a new printing factory within the Sejong Future Industrial Complex.
Under this agreement, KT&G will invest approximately 180 billion KRW on a 48,583㎡ site within the Future Industrial Complex to complete the printing factory by 2025. Sejong City will actively support administrative efforts such as expanding access roads around the factory, enhancing public transportation infrastructure, and constructing new bicycle paths.
The newly established printing factory will produce all packaging materials and paper boxes for tobacco products sold by KT&G. It plans to significantly improve operational efficiency by introducing cutting-edge logistics automation and smart plate-making processes. Additionally, through the construction of an eco-friendly factory, KT&G aims to increase the use of renewable energy such as solar power and upgrade air and wastewater treatment infrastructure, pursuing LEED certification for green building after completion.
