Dongjak-gu Approves Redevelopment Management Disposition for Heukseok 11 District... Mayor Park Ilha Cuts Permit Processing Time by More Than Half
[Seoul District News] The First Achievement in Redevelopment Projects Since Mayor Park Il-ha's Inauguration: A Milestone 7 Years After the Establishment of Heukseok 11 Redevelopment Association & Future Construction of About 1,500 Apartment Units
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) has approved the management disposition plan for the Heukseok 11 Redevelopment Promotion Zone housing redevelopment project, accelerating the transformation of Heukseok New Town into the central city of southwestern Seoul.
This is the first achievement in redevelopment projects since Mayor Park Il-ha took office and a remarkable accomplishment seven years after the establishment of the Heukseok 11 Redevelopment Association.
Heukseok 11 District entered the final stage of the project after obtaining management disposition approval on the 16th.
Previously, it took 402 days for Noryangjin 6 District and 201 days for Noryangjin 8 District to receive approval for redevelopment projects. In contrast, under the 8th local government administration, Heukseok 11 District accelerated project promotion and received approval in just 136 days.
This reflects Mayor Park’s determination to change the map of Dongjak.
Additionally, Heukseok 11 District is a transportation hub adjacent to Subway Line 9 and is close to the development sites of nearby Heukseok 2 and 9 Districts, expected to become the central axis of Dongjak-gu’s urban core.
This area is projected to house approximately 1,500 apartment units, becoming one of Seoul’s most valuable urban centers.
The district plans to officially begin construction in the second half of next year after completing procedures such as the relocation of residents in Heukseok 11 District.

Mayor Park Il-ha emphasized, “With the management disposition approval of Heukseok 11 District, we will revitalize the Heukseok New Town project and improve the poor urban infrastructure,” adding, “This year, we will establish Dongjak-gu Corporation to shorten the processing time for redevelopment and reconstruction permits, changing the map of Dongjak-gu.”
