Yeonggwang-gun Conducts Emergency Preparedness Drill 'Eulji Exercise'
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kang Jongman) announced on the 26th that it recently conducted the '2022 Eulji Exercise' to establish a national emergency preparedness posture.
Starting with the emergency assembly of public officials on the 22nd, a comprehensive wartime situation room was operated, and an initial situation briefing was held with related organizations such as the military, police, and fire department to conduct a situational response drill for a terrorist incident at Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant.
Additionally, through wartime organization formation training, wartime establishment organization training, administrative agency dispersal and relocation training, Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant drone terror response training, and civil defense evacuation drills, the crisis management response capability assuming wartime situations was enhanced.
Governor Kang Jongman said, "Through this exercise, we will supplement the issues identified during the exercise process, continuously strengthen the emergency preparedness posture with a mindset of being prepared for any contingency, and strive to firmly protect the lives and property of the residents from security threats."
The county resumed the Eulji Exercise, which had been scaled down and implemented due to the impact of COVID-19, for the first time in three years. Through this training, it solidified the regional security posture against enemy threats and re-examined the overall integrated defense posture of civilians, government, military, and police.
Meanwhile, the Eulji Exercise is an emergency preparedness drill conducted once a year nationwide at the government level to review and supplement emergency preparedness plans and to master wartime mission procedures in case of war, incident, or a national emergency equivalent thereto, to protect the lives and property of the nation and its people.
