SH Corporation Holds Forum on 'Meaning of Sale Price Disclosure and Seeking Stability in Affordable Housing'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (hereinafter SH Corporation) and National Assembly member Seo Beom-su will hold a forum to review the overall achievements related to public housing, including the significance of disclosing the cost of sale and its impact on housing supply, and to explore ways to contribute to housing stability for low-income households.
SH Corporation and National Assembly member Seo Beom-su will hold a discussion forum on the theme of "Disclosure of Sale Cost and Housing Stability for Low-Income Households" on the 29th at the 2nd Seminar Room of the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Seoul. In accordance with its promise to disclose the sale costs of major project sites (Naegok, Segok 2, Magok, Ogeum, Hang-dong) over the past 10 years, SH Corporation recently completed the disclosure of sale costs with the 13 complexes in the Magok district. For sites scheduled for final settlement in the future, the construction cost settlement will be completed and disclosed sequentially.
The forum will begin with a presentation by Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, on the topic "Significance and Implications of Disclosing Sale Costs," followed by a discussion involving six experts including real estate specialists and government officials. Professor Nam Jin of the University of Seoul will chair the session, with participants including △ Yang Hee-gwan, Director of Public Land Planning Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport △ Kang Oh-soon, Director of Sales Planning at Korea Land & Housing Corporation △ Kim Ki-beom, Director of Land Development Division at Gyeonggi Province △ Kim Young-kwon, Head of New Business Office at the Korea Construction Association △ Kim Seong-dal, Policy Director at the Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice △ and Park Won-gap, Senior Real Estate Specialist at KB Kookmin Bank.
Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, emphasized, "Disclosing the sale cost is not only a way to verify the appropriateness of sale prices but also a policy that satisfies citizens' right to know and secures transparency and trust in public institutions. It is a natural responsibility for transparent and open management of public institutions."
