This Year, 1,237 Certified Public Accountants Passed... 65 More Than Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 25th that 1,237 candidates passed the 57th Certified Public Accountant exam in 2022, an increase of 65 from last year.
The number of successful candidates has been on the rise. It increased from 904 in 2018 to 1,009 in 2019, and 1,110 in 2020. Last year, it was 1,172, and this year it reached 1,237.
The average age of successful candidates was 27.0 years, with those in their late 20s accounting for the largest share at 64.5%. Early 20s made up 22.9%, and early 30s accounted for 11.2%. The highest scorer was Jo Gil-hwan (23), a senior at Hanyang University, who scored a total of 434.55 points, and the youngest to pass was Kim Yoon-su (20), a sophomore at Seoul National University.

The proportion of female successful candidates was 35.2%, up 4.6 percentage points from last year. By major, students in business-related fields accounted for 72.8%, a decrease of 3.7 percentage points compared to last year.
