[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will issue 45 billion KRW worth of Changwon Sarang Gift Certificates Nubijeon at 9 a.m. on September 5th to celebrate Chuseok, the traditional Korean holiday.
The total Nubijeon issuance amount for September is 15 billion KRW in paper form and 30 billion KRW in mobile form, totaling 45 billion KRW. The city plans to sell the largest quantity in the province in line with the Chuseok holiday and the Korea Together Sale.
This Nubijeon issuance will maintain the individual monthly purchase limit at 200,000 KRW to allow more citizens to buy, following the continuous early sell-out of all previous issuances. It can be purchased at a 10% discount through 247 paper sales agencies (Gyeongnam Bank, Nonghyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, ShinHyup) and the dedicated mobile Nubijeon app.

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “To stimulate consumption in the local economy, which has been increasingly difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we are expanding issuance. We expect this to warm up consumption and the depressed local markets that had frozen due to COVID-19, helping revitalize the regional economy.” He added, “We hope that Nubijeon will become a strong support for the local economy and provide practical help to small business owners during the September Chuseok holiday, a traditional Korean festival.”
