Lotte Mart has reinforced its commitment to eco-friendly values while preparing gift sets for this Chuseok. Last year, Lotte Mart launched the eco-friendly campaign brand 'RE:EARTH,' which means 'Renewing the Earth,' and this Chuseok, it is expanding its gift sets using eco-friendly packaging materials.
On the 26th, Lotte Mart announced that as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management activities for this Chuseok, it has switched the packaging materials for Korean beef gift sets to 100% eco-friendly materials. It is also introducing various eco-friendly gift sets, such as making all outer boxes of mushroom gift sets using soybean oil ink. In fact, sales of Korean beef gift sets have grown by 20% compared to last year, attracting consumer interest.
The ice packs responsible for keeping Lotte Mart's Korean beef gift sets cool are made from water and starch, enhancing cooling efficiency while reducing production time compared to previous versions. The product packaging uses paper-only boxes and bags made from recyclable R-PET (Recycled-Polyester) fabric. R-PET fabric is a recycled polyester material derived from discarded PET bottles, symbolizing a contribution to a sustainable circular economy through resource circulation.
