Hannam University PhD Candidate Lee Ji-young Receives 'Outstanding Paper Award' from the Korean Society for Biological Sciences

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University announced on the 23rd that Lee Ji-young, who is pursuing a doctoral degree in the Department of Life Systems Science at the university, recently received the Excellent Paper Award at the '77th Annual Conference of the Korean Society for Biological Sciences.'
According to the university, the conference was held for three days from the 10th at the Global Plaza of Kyungpook National University. This academic conference, jointly hosted by seven societies including the Korean Society of Animal Taxonomy, was organized as a platform to present research results under the theme "The Role of Life Science Research and Education in the Era of Climate Crisis and the New Normal."
At the conference, Lee Ji-young was selected as the recipient of the Excellent Paper Award in the poster category by presenting two new species. So far, Lee Ji-young has been summarizing the taxonomic history of the higher classification group "Noctuoidea" while conducting phylogenetic research on the subfamily "Hypenodinae" belonging to it.

Lee Ji-young entered the doctoral program in the Department of Life Systems Science at Hannam University this year and was selected in May for the National Institute of Biological Resources' "Unexplored Taxa Specialist Training Project," receiving research funding.
