Korea Airports Corporation Hosts Traditional Culture Event at Gimpo International Airport
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The Seoul Regional Headquarters of Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 22nd that, together with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it will hold a special traditional culture event for all passengers at the international and domestic quarantine lounges of Gimpo International Airport until the 26th of next month.
At the international departure hall, starting from today for six days, there will be two daily performances of the ‘Royal Walk’ parade, which recreates court life from the Joseon Dynasty, along with magic shows and dance performances.
Gimpo International Airport planned this event to support the recovery of travelers' daily lives as the Gimpo-Haneda route resumed on June 29 after 2 years and 3 months. After the parade and performances, there will be a commemorative photo session with the cast dressed as the Joseon Dynasty king and queen, court ladies, and royal guards.
Additionally, at the domestic departure hall, from the 29th of this month until the 26th of next month, a free traditional craft experience booth titled ‘Traditional Arcade’ will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participants can choose one experience from ‘Hanbok paper dolls’ and ‘Silk ttakji making & bojagi wrapping.’ Each experience takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Anyone who has completed airport security screening and wishes to enjoy a unique activity during their waiting time can participate for free.
