Gwangjin-gu Awards Scholarship Certificates to 50 Scholars
On the 18th, at the Gwangjin-gu Office Auditorium, the Gwangjin-gu Mayor and Scholarship Committee members provided over 89 million won in support to a total of 50 high school and university students.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the '2022 Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony' on the 18th at the Gwangjin-gu Office auditorium.
The district selected 50 high school and university students residing in the area as scholarship recipients, providing scholarships of 1 million KRW for high school students and 2.5 million KRW for university students, distributed semiannually.
The scholarship students were recommended by school principals and district heads as those with excellent academic performance, exemplary behavior, or outstanding talent and aptitude in arts and sports fields. The Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Committee selected the recipients by applying the selection criteria.
At the award ceremony, Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho and members of the Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Committee participated, presenting scholarship certificates and a total of over 89 million KRW to 50 students, including 28 general scholarship students, 15 academic excellence scholarship students, and 7 special talent scholarship students.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, "I deeply thank all scholarship committee members who donated scholarships, and I am very proud of the students who devoted themselves to their studies despite these difficult times." He added, "Going forward, our district will continue to support students so that they can achieve their dreams and lead a brighter future."
