Gyeongnam Office of Education, Diabetes Student Family Camp
Gyeongnam Office of Education hosted a one-day camp by inviting families of students with diabetes in the province.

The camp was attended by 31 students with diabetes and their parents from kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools.
Participants spent time enhancing their medical understanding of diabetes management and communicating with the responsible instructors.
On that day, the Office of Education provided lectures including ▲Professor Seo Ji-hyun from Jinju Gyeongsang National University Hospital on the current status and complications of adolescent diabetes ▲Professor Kim Soo-kyung from Jinju Gyeongsang National University Hospital on pharmacological treatments for diabetes ▲Nutritionist Kim Hyun-hee from Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital on food and blood sugar ▲Teacher Cheon Mi-sook from Sancheong High School on laughter exercise methods with children.
Programs such as ▲Meeting with leader Kim Young-ji, Deputy Manager of Medtronic Pacific Branch ▲Communication with Lee Jeong-hae, representative of the Type 1 Diabetes Patient Association in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam region were also prepared.
According to the Office of Education, as of April 1, there are 126 students with Type 1 diabetes and 117 students with Type 2 diabetes enrolled in Gyeongnam.
The Office of Education plans to provide medical expenses of 200,000 KRW for students with Type 1 diabetes and develop and distribute promotional and educational materials to improve awareness of diabetes.
