"Packed with Tuna Expertise" Dongwon F&B Launches 'Premium Dongwon Tuna Extract'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Dongwon F&B announced on the 18th that it has launched the ‘Premium Dongwon Tuna Extract,’ which contains the know-how of a renowned tuna brand.
The Premium Dongwon Tuna Extract is a liquid seasoning product made based on Dongwon F&B’s technology, which has been manufacturing Dongwon Tuna for over 40 years. It contains 81.5% smoked skipjack tuna (katsuobushi) extract and includes extract from the premium tuna species yellowfin tuna, providing a deeper and richer umami flavor.
In addition to tuna extract, the Premium Dongwon Tuna Extract contains various secondary ingredients such as honey, ginseng, shiitake mushrooms, kelp, and garlic, enhancing the original taste and deep flavor of dishes. Even a small amount can add umami to dishes, making it versatile for soups, stews, stir-fries, braised dishes, and steamed dishes.

Following the launch of ‘Dongwon Tuna Extract’ in September last year, Dongwon F&B aims to strengthen its competitiveness in the liquid seasoning market by adding this premium product and plans to grow the product line to a scale of 10 billion KRW by next year. A Dongwon F&B representative stated, “Since the Premium Dongwon Tuna Extract is a product that consolidates the manufacturing expertise of Dongwon, a specialized seafood company, we plan to expand exports to countries such as the United States and Australia.”
