Korea Game Industry Association Supports 'Youth Game Developers' Game Production Presentation
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] The Korea Game Industry Association announced on the 17th that it will support the ‘Challenging Young Game Developers Game Production Presentation’ and hold the event together with university students.
The event is scheduled to take place on September 3rd at 10 a.m. in the main auditorium on the 7th floor of Kinstar Tower in Jeongja-dong, Bundang-gu. The association will oversee support projects such as venue rental and lectures, while university students will lead the production presentations and experience events.
As sponsors, game companies including ‘Neowiz’, ‘NCSoft’, ‘Pearl Abyss’, and ‘KOG’, as well as organizations such as the ‘Korea Creative Content Agency’, the ‘Game Rating and Administration Committee’, and the ‘Game Culture Foundation’ will participate to encourage their challenges.
Majors ranging from architecture, law, theater and film studies, which are not directly associated with game development, to computer engineering, the ‘young game developers’ from various majors will present 28 games they have developed during the semester by gathering in their spare time, experience each other’s games, and exchange their unique characteristics, skills, and experiences.
‘Young game developers’ are university students from various schools and majors. These students voluntarily form clubs outside of school to conduct game production studies and development. Due to the nature of their gatherings, they are groups that are not easily identified as targets for support from schools or institutions, explained the Korea Game Industry Association.
