[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT announced on the 17th that it will introduce '1M HomeDance,' the first dance lesson application on Internet TV (IPTV), in collaboration with 1MILLION on Olleh TV. This is the first step taken through a business agreement to provide AI video analysis-based online dance education services on a media platform.

1MILLION is the largest dance academy in Korea, co-led by famous choreographer Kim Hye-rang (stage name Lia Kim). It operates a YouTube channel with over 25 million subscribers, leading global dance trends.

Customers using KT's GiGA Genie A and GiGA Genie 3 set-top boxes can run the '1M HomeDance' app to watch professional dance lessons from 1MILLION at home without time restrictions. Additionally, by connecting a webcam to the set-top box, users can practice by comparing their movements with the choreographer’s through a dual-screen mirror function.

KT plans to release a version within this year that applies its self-developed AI dance motion analysis technology. In this version, AI will estimate users' posture information in real time, extract feature data, and analyze how similar the movements are to the choreographer’s. After the lesson, users can compare their dance videos with the choreographer’s to evaluate similarity and activity levels. Furthermore, the evaluation results from lessons so far will be provided through a personalized statistics system, offering information such as dance improvement and total exercise volume.

Kim Hoon-bae, Executive Director of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, "By providing 1MILLION’s professional dance education content through KT’s media platform, we expect the IPTV service ecosystem to expand to Generation Z and become more active."
