Inha University Secures 11 Major National Research Projects in First Half of Year... Year-End Contract Amount Expected to Reach 200 Billion KRW

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Inha University announced on the 14th that it has been selected for a total of 11 large-scale national research projects in the first half of this year, securing research funding amounting to 100 billion KRW.
The university expects the total amount of secured funding to exceed 200 billion KRW by the end of this year, up from 155 billion KRW last year.
The projects secured by Inha University in the first half include ▲ Software-Centered University Support Project ▲ Future Space Education Center Support Project ▲ AI Convergence Innovation Talent Development Project ▲ Human-Centered AI Core Fundamental Technology Development Project ▲ Science and Technology Innovation Talent Development Project ▲ University-Focused Research Institute Support Project ▲ Leading Research Center (CRC) ▲ Core Research Support Center Establishment Support Project ▲ Industrial Innovation Infrastructure Construction Project ▲ NRF Basic Research Laboratory Support Project, among others.
One of the major projects, the '3rd Phase Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Development Project (Link 3.0),' has secured up to 24 billion KRW in national funding over a maximum of six years to cultivate talent that meets the demands of industry and future society.
The 'Ministry Collaboration-Type Talent Development Project' under the University Innovation Support Project was selected in five categories, ranking second nationwide, and the 'Software-Centered University Project' was selected for the first time in the Incheon region, aiming to lead not only university education but also regional software education.
Inha University analyzed that these achievements were made through the creation of a high-quality research environment and active industry-academia cooperation.
President Jo Myung-woo stated, "This year, we expect research funding to exceed 200 billion KRW, with income from the Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation surpassing tuition revenue," adding, "We will continue to focus on successfully operating national projects, establishing an industry-academia-research cooperation system that leads future promising new businesses, and nurturing talent capable of interdisciplinary convergence and innovation."
