A total of 1,693 people, including economic figures such as Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Lotte Chairman Shin Dong-bin, as well as small business owners, livelihood-type criminal offenders, major economic figures, labor-management officials, and specially considered prisoners, were granted special pardons, reinstatements, and sentence reductions as of the 15th of this month.
Labor-management officials such as Dongkuk Steel Chairman Jang Se-ju, former STX Group Chairman Kang Deok-su, former Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Public Transport Union Chairman Cho Sang-soo, Korean Federation of Trade Unions Standing Vice Chairman Heo Kwon, and Hyundai Heavy Industries CEO Han Young-seok were also pardoned.
