Yangju City Joint Crackdown on Safety Standard Violations Including 'Cargo Truck Panspring'
Illegal Vehicle Modification Reported: Order for Restoration and Imposition of Fines
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a joint crackdown with related agencies on 'illegal installation of leaf springs and safety standard violations in cargo trucks' around the Yangju Tollgate on the Metropolitan Area 1st Ring Expressway on the 17th.
According to the city on the 12th, as accidents caused by falling leaf springs installed on cargo truck beds have been increasing recently on highways, measures have been prepared to eradicate illegal installation of leaf springs and other safety standard violations in cargo trucks.
The joint crackdown team, consisting of Yangju Vehicle Management Division, Yangju Police Station, Highway Patrol Unit, and Korea Transportation Safety Authority Northern Gyeonggi Headquarters, will focus on cracking down on illegal acts under the Automobile Management Act such as ▲illegal supports (leaf springs) ▲damage or covering of registration plates ▲attachment of LED lights.
