[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] LG Innotek announced on the 11th that it has maintained the quality certification from the global premium automobile brand Jaguar Land Rover for two consecutive years.
The 'Jaguar Land Rover Quality Certification' is a system where Jaguar Land Rover evaluates the quality level and delivery compliance of its suppliers' products to select outstanding partners.
LG Innotek first obtained the Jaguar Land Rover quality certification last year. Even after obtaining the certification, it can be revoked at any time if the quality is deemed insufficient. In LG Innotek's case, it maintained the certification by achieving zero quality issues in both 2020 and last year.
Automotive electronic components are strictly quality-controlled because they are directly related to the lives of vehicle occupants and pedestrians. Among them, Jaguar Land Rover is known for producing premium models, making its quality standards particularly stringent and thorough.
Since 2017, LG Innotek has been supplying DC-DC converters to Jaguar Land Rover. A DC-DC converter is a component that converts the high-voltage direct current from the battery into low-voltage direct current suitable for use in vehicle internal devices. LG Innotek's DC-DC converters have been installed in the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models of Jaguar Land Rover's flagship SUVs, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
Yoo Byung-guk, Executive Director and Head of the Automotive Components Division at LG Innotek, said, "With this certification maintenance, we have once again proven the global quality competitiveness of our automotive components in the world market. We will focus on innovating customer experience in the next-generation automotive components sector centered on electric and autonomous vehicles by leveraging stable quality and leading technologies in vehicle sensors, cameras, and communication modules."
