Full-Scale Preparation for Joint Training on Architectural Cultural Heritage Restoration
National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, ICOMOS Korea Committee, and Traditional Architecture Repair Technology Promotion Foundation MOU
On the 10th, the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage under the Cultural Heritage Administration signed a business agreement with the ICOMOS Korea Committee and the Traditional Architecture Repair Technology Promotion Foundation to hold a joint training titled "Stone, Wood, Earth ? Universality and Specificity of Architectural Cultural Heritage Repair." The joint training aims to enhance expertise in architectural cultural heritage repair and share international trends and issues regarding repair standards. A large number of domestic and international experts in architectural heritage preservation and repair will participate, including Professor Goeurn Arun, president of ISCARSAH (International Scientific Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage). From the 29th of this month to the 2nd of next month, the program will be conducted in the form of academic seminars and field training sessions in Seoul, Daejeon, Mokpo, Gunsan, Iksan, and Paju. The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage will oversee the academic seminars, the Traditional Architecture Repair Technology Promotion Foundation will manage the field training, and consultations with ISCARSAH will be handled by the ICOMOS Korea Committee.
