LG Uplus Enhances Competitiveness of B2B Cloud Security Products
Expansion of the SECaaS Market... Enhancing Customer Security Experience
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] LG Uplus announced on the 10th that it will strengthen the product competitiveness of 'U+ Cloud Security Pack,' a PC security solution package exclusively for corporate customers.
With the rapid spread of the digital transformation trend recently, the strategy is not only to enhance competitiveness in the Security as a Service (SECaaS) market but also to innovate the security experience of corporate customers.
Launched in August last year, U+ Cloud Security Pack is a SECaaS package that provides security solutions based on the LG Uplus cloud platform. Because it is cloud-based, customers can quickly install and maintain it without changing their existing system environment, and safely protect data at up to 30% lower costs compared to operating their own solutions, including initial setup costs and IT/security personnel composition.
LG Uplus expanded the U+ Cloud Security Pack from the existing solutions such as personal information leakage prevention, antivirus, document encryption (DRM), and ransomware protection to a total of eight types by adding NAC (Network Access Control).
U+ Cloud Security Pack is expected to be an optimal security service for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners in various industries such as research institutes, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals that want to securely manage corporate intellectual assets like confidential documents and drawings; medical, e-commerce, and travel sectors handling sensitive customer information; and IT services and education sectors where IT managers are absent and security system management is difficult.
Customers can select and use the desired solutions. A 15% discount is available for a 3-year contract. An additional 10% discount is applied when combined with U+ corporate services such as internet and internet phone.
The newly added NAC solution is a technology that identifies and authenticates all devices connected to the network, verifies safety, and controls and manages them to protect the network and block threats. For example, it is a concept similar to checking the passports of all overseas arrivals at airports to decide entry and exit for national security enhancement.
Globally, the cloud NAC market is growing significantly. Global market research firm Frost & Sullivan forecasted that the global NAC market will grow at an average annual rate of 10.4% from 2019 to 2024, and the cloud-based NAC market will expand at an average annual rate of 26.8%, about 2.5 times higher than that.
LG Uplus explained that, in response to the changes in work environments due to COVID-19 such as remote work and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), and the global spread of digital transformation trends including smart mobility, which is considered the biggest trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution, customer needs are expected to increase, and thus it has proactively provided cloud NAC solutions as cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS).
