Opening on the 3rd, Hwarangdae-gi features about 12,000 young hopefuls from schools and clubs across the country competing fiercely at nine venues, including Gyeongju Soccer Park.
This year's tournament is divided into two phases; the first phase began on the 3rd and safely concluded with the final match on the 8th.
In the first phase alone, 278 teams from schools and clubs nationwide participated, playing 825 matches. The second phase will be held from the 11th to the 16th.
The mayor also visited Alcheon Field 1 on the 8th to cheer on the home game of 'Gyeongju Hwarang FC' and encourage the participating players.
Mayor Ju Nak-young of Gyeongju said, "We welcome the parents and spectators who came to the stadium despite the hot weather and hope for continued interest in the remaining schedule. We ask for encouragement so that the players can build experience and friendships rather than focusing solely on results."
To prepare for the second phase starting on the 11th, there will be a short break to reorganize and prepare for the tournament.
