Rafting Boat Capsizes on Donggang River in Yeongwol... 1 Dead, 10 Rescued
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] A rafting boat capsizing accident occurred on the Donggang River in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province.
According to the police and the Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 9th, around 2:43 PM that day, 10 people who were on a rafting boat in Samok-ri, Yeongwol-gun, Donggang River, fell into the water and rescued themselves.
As a result of the accident, one person showed signs of cardiac arrest and was transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency medical team, but died while receiving treatment.
The passengers on the accident boat reportedly started rafting around 1:30 PM, before the local government issued a rafting suspension order.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Meanwhile, Yeongwol-gun issued a rafting business suspension order around 2:30 PM that day when the water level of the Donggang River rose to 4.5 meters at the Geoun Bridge.
