Samsung Launches 'One UI 5' Beta Program for Galaxy S22 Users
Customized Settings and Enhanced Privacy Protection
Official Release at Year-End Incorporating Feedback
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Samsung Electronics announced on the 7th that it will start the 'One UI 5' beta program with enhanced personalized optimization settings for Galaxy S22 series users.
Users can apply for and experience the One UI 5 beta program through the Samsung Members application, then suggest additional features or report software errors. Samsung Electronics plans to analyze user feedback, make detailed improvements, and officially release the software by the end of the year.
In the One UI 5 beta program, the color palette feature has been enhanced, allowing users to customize the home screen, icons, quick panel, and more with their own colors matching the wallpaper they set. Sixteen color themes are provided by default, and users can add up to 12 additional colors themselves.
Additionally, users can stack widgets of the same size in a single location on the home screen. This helps save space and create a cleaner home screen layout.
Users can easily select which types of app notifications they want to receive. Through a separate control menu, they can choose to receive only desired types of notifications such as pop-up alerts, app icon badges, or lock screen notifications, or opt to receive no notifications at all.
Moreover, users can customize preferred languages for each app. Those learning a new language can easily set which language to use within apps.
To help users easily capture high-quality photos and videos, new icons within the camera's 'Pro' and 'Pro Video' modes provide tips on utilizing various lenses and features. The responsive Zoom Bar allows faster and easier access to subjects with one hand.
Privacy features have also been strengthened. Users can easily and accurately check their smartphone’s security status with the new Security Dashboard and quickly resolve any issues.
Accessibility features have been enhanced as well. Consumers can view and read text or images on their smartphones more clearly and larger through the quickly accessible magnifier function. Additionally, video audio descriptions and keyboard input reading are now available, making smartphone use more convenient for users with visual impairments.
