[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City provides free psychological counseling to young people in need of psychological support and will recruit participants on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 8th.
The ‘Youth Mind Connection Project’ was launched as a pilot project last year, offering free one-on-one psychological counseling to about 130 young people. This year, from June, free counseling is being provided to 300 young people in the first phase over three months.
This time, 100 participants for one-on-one psychological counseling and about 140 participants for the mind healing program will be recruited respectively, with counseling support starting in September.
One-on-one psychological counseling is conducted by professional counselors from specialized counseling institutions, with up to seven sessions per individual. Each counseling session lasts 50 minutes and will be conducted either face-to-face or online according to the convenience of the young participants.
The mind healing program is group counseling, and along with one-on-one psychological counseling, a total of 14 programs covering various themes such as art therapy, writing, and meditation are offered by specialized counseling institutions.
Any young person aged 18 to 34 residing in Busan can apply through the Busan Youth Platform.
