The Kyungnam University Weightlifting Team participated in the 2022 Korea Business Weightlifting Federation President's Cup Weightlifting Competition and the 22nd National University Weightlifting Championships, winning 15 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and setting one new competition record.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] The weightlifting team of Gyeongnam National University participated in the '2022 Korea Business Weightlifting Federation President's Cup Weightlifting Competition and the 22nd National University Weightlifting Championship' held from the 2nd to the 5th at Anjung Gymnasium in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, winning 15 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and setting one new competition record.
In the men's division, Ha Young-su (2nd year, Department of Sports Science) in the -89kg category and Choi Seung-hyun (1st year, Department of Physical Education) in the -81kg category, and in the women's division, Park Soo-bin (3rd year, Department of Physical Education) in the +87kg category, Kim Ye-eun (2nd year, Department of Physical Education) in the -76kg category, and Kang Chae-yeon (1st year, Department of Sports Science) in the -71kg category each took first place in snatch, clean and jerk, and total, winning gold medals and achieving a triple crown. Park set a new competition record in the snatch.
Additionally, in the men's division, Lee Hyung-min (3rd year, Department of Sports Science) competing in the +109kg category and Kim Dong-wook (1st year, Department of Physical Education) in the -89kg category, and in the women's division, Kang Ji-soo (3rd year, Department of Sports Science) in the -64kg category each placed second in snatch, clean and jerk, and total. Yoo Dong-sung (1st year, Department of Sports Science) in the -109kg category took second place in the snatch, earning a total of 10 silver medals.
