Yeonggwang-gun Establishes Two Unique Experience Facilities Near National Leisure Camping Site

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, is seeing an increase in camping site visitors by creating a park golf practice field near the ‘Gukmin Yeoha Camping Site Camping-i’ and establishing a meditation forest trail and unique observatory in the Gususang area.

According to the county on the 5th, the ‘Gukmin Yeoha Camping Site Camping-i,’ a representative camping site of Yeonggwang, was established in April 2018 and is currently operated under consignment. It covers a total area of 19,178㎡ and is equipped with various convenience facilities including 26 caravan sites, 20 tent sites, a convenience store, restrooms, and shower rooms.

With the increasing trend of campers due to COVID-19, the number of visitors to this site is steadily rising.

Accordingly, the county has created two unique experience facilities that the whole family can enjoy together along with camping.

The first is the Machon Park Golf Practice Field, located just a 2-minute drive away.

In May, the county established a 6-hole park golf practice field in a nearby neglected small park, allowing families to enjoy park golf together during breaks from camping.

The second is the unique meditation forest trail and unique observatory located in the forest adjacent to the camping site.

The county created a 1 km meditation forest trail in the International Mind Training Center area and built a meditation observatory where meditation programs can be conducted, as well as a unique star-shaped observatory where visitors can take their own memorable photos against the backdrop of beautiful scenery and star-shaped sculptures.

A county official said, “We wanted to offer a beautiful place where families can enjoy together beyond the simple concept of camping and create joyful memories through photos. We will work harder to promote this beautiful hometown to tourists and local residents visiting the county.”
